Drilled my 40th attic today and finally got the glow-in-the-dark staple trick down
I've been fighting with low light in attics for years, always squinting to see my staple line. A buddy in Des Moines told me to hit the staples with a cheap UV flashlight before I start, they glow for about 20 minutes. Tried it on a rough rewire this morning and I could trace my runs from the hatch without moving the light around. Saved me maybe 15 minutes on a basic drop, which adds up on a 6-house day. Anyone else use a glow trick for dark crawl spaces, or do you just work blind like I used to?

Gotta say, I felt this one deep. I've spent way too many hours in crawl spaces with a headlamp dying at the worst moment, just guessing where my last staple went. That UV trick is pure gold, honestly, it's the kind of hack that makes you wonder why nobody thought of it sooner. I'm totally stealing this for my next attic job, my eyes will thank me. Good on you for figuring out something that actually makes the day easier.
