My first SSDI appeal took 18 months in Fresno

Honestly thought it would be a 6 month thing max, but the ALJ hearing got pushed back three times. The lawyer I hired said the backlog in the Fresno office is brutal right now. Has anyone else had their hearing rescheduled more than once?

Read a post on another forum where a guy from LA county said his hearing got reset five times over two years. Seems like the whole system is just swamped right now. The judge assignments and scheduling coordinators are probably overloaded with cases. Your lawyer was right about Fresno being bad, I heard the same thing from a disability advocate on a podcast. They also mentioned that some offices are worse than others depending on the judge's caseload.

Yeah, that whole "judge's caseload" thing you mentioned actually makes a lot of sense, I used to think it was just bad luck.
