Took me 3 years to figure out why my cutting board kept sliding

I've been using a wet paper towel under my board like everyone else but it always dried out after 20 minutes. Last week I finally tried a silicone mat from the kitchen supply store and my board hasn't moved an inch since. How long did it take you to find a solution for a simple shop problem that drove you crazy?

Honestly the "dried out after 20 minutes" part hit home. My friend was using a wet towel under his cutting board for years and kept getting annoyed when it slipped mid-chop. He finally switched to a silicone mat too and said it was the best 8 bucks he ever spent.

$8? thats a steal honestly. i was one of those wet towel people for way too long too till i got a silicone mat and realized how dumb i was being.
