Tried to rescue a burnt chili and spent 4 hours fixing the smoke damage
I was making a big pot of chili last Saturday and got distracted by a phone call. Next thing I know the bottom was black and the whole kitchen looked like a fog machine went off. I spent the next 4 hours scrubbing walls, washing curtains, and airing out the house. The chili itself was toast but the smoke smell stuck around for two more days. Has anyone else had a simple burn turn into a full home cleanup project?

Come on now, you're acting like a little smoke is a disaster. A properly burnt pot adds flavor and character, not to mention the satisfaction of a good scrub. That four hour cleanup just means you earned your next perfect batch of chili even more.

Scrubbing that burnt pot is basically meditation I swear, totally worth it.
