Vent: That express lane exit ramp near the airport almost made me miss my flight

I was heading to Denver last Tuesday and took the E-470 exit ramp off I-25. The whole lane was closed for construction with ZERO warning signs until the last second. I had to slam my brakes and cut across three lanes of traffic going 70 mph. Almost got rear-ended by a semi truck. Has anyone else dealt with sudden ramp closures with no signs around here?

Man that exact ramp has gotten me twice now. First time was like you described, no signs until the last second and I had to swerve into the shoulder just to avoid hitting the barrier. Second time was even worse though, they had a temporary sign up but it was placed right behind a billboard so you couldn't see it until you were practically on top of it. I ended up having to take the next exit and loop back around which cost me 15 minutes. The whole stretch between I-25 and the airport has been a mess for months now, feels like they're just making it up as they go along.

Ain't it always the way they save the bad news for the last possible second?

Man that ramp is cursed or something, I swear. I had almost the exact same thing happen but coming from the other direction trying to get onto Pena Boulevard. They had the lane drop completely unmarked and I ended up riding the rumble strip for like 50 feet because some guy in a lifted truck wouldn't let me over. By the time I got to the terminal I was shaking and had to sit in short term parking for five minutes just to calm down before I could even check my bag. The worst part is there's no backup route once you commit to that stretch, you're just stuck.
