That pothole on I-35 ate 2 hours of my morning
Hit a monster pothole near the 12th street exit last Thursday. Thought I just got a flat tire, but the rim was bent and the alignment got knocked out too. Spent an hour on the shoulder waiting for a tow, then another hour at the shop just to confirm I needed a new tire and a realignment. Has anyone else had a simple pothole turn into a half day mess?

I see it different, the city will pay if your paperwork is solid and you follow their process to the letter.

The really annoying part nobody talks about is how the city can wiggle out of paying for it. I filed a claim with TDOT after mine bent a control arm last year and they denied it because apparently they have 10 days after getting notified about a pothole to fix it before they're liable. So unless someone reported that exact pothole online or by phone before you hit it, you're basically SOL. Maybe check if there's a way to see if that pothole was already reported. Could make the difference between eating the cost and getting reimbursed.
