PSA: Found a cheap way to make my own stencils for monthly spreads
Last week I cut a stencil out of a plastic folder from the dollar store with an X-Acto knife, and it actually works perfect for repeating header designs. Has anyone else tried making their own stencils instead of buying them?

My friend Jen tried this with an old report cover from the thrift store. She traced a paisley pattern from a napkin onto it and cut it out with a craft knife. It worked for two spreads before the plastic started cracking at the corners. She switched to a thin flexible cutting board and that one has lasted her about six months now without any issues.

Huh, is a cracked jewelry holder really that big of a deal? Sounds like it worked well enough for what it was, no need to overthink this.
