Am I the only one who started logging framing hours and found out I was slow on Tuesdays
I run a small tree service in Spokane and always felt like I got nothing done on Tuesdays, so I started writing down start and stop times for every job for 6 weeks. Turned out my Tuesday mornings were running about 40 percent longer than Mondays, mostly because I was still doing paperwork from the weekend and hitting the yard at 9 instead of 7. Once I moved that paperwork to Sunday night, my Tuesday jobs dropped from 5 hours to 3 and a half. Same crew, same gear, nothing new bought. The only real fix was seeing the numbers on paper instead of guessing. Curious if anyone else tracks their crew's hours by day of the week and found a pattern like this.
How do you know the Tuesday thing was about the paperwork and not just a lag from Monday? Like maybe your crew is still feeling Monday's work and they naturally slow down the next day. Tbh I track my own hours and found my worst day is always the one right after my hardest day, no matter what I do with paperwork. So moving the paperwork might have helped, but I'd bet some of that 40 percent was just bodies needing a rest. Did you try watching the Wednesday numbers too, to see if the slowdown just moved instead of went away?
