Seeing my grocery bill drop $80 after 2 months of meal prepping Sundays
I used to just grab whatever looked good at the Safeway in Tacoma and swipe my card without checking. Total would always land around $220 for the week and I'd still end up tossing half of it. Then I started doing Sunday prep, like actually writing out 5 dinners and 2 lunches before shopping. This week's receipt came to $140 and I only threw out a half bag of spinach. Anybody else surprised by how much the planning part matters more than the cooking itself?
Totally agree that the planning is the real money saver, not just the cooking. I started doing the same thing with a simple list on my phone and my weekly total dropped by about $60 without me even changing what I eat. It’s wild how just knowing what you actually need stops you from grabbing that extra bag of chips or random sauce you’ll never use.
