Just realized my grocery spending dropped from $680 to $510 a month and I only noticed by accident
I was going through my bank app to find a weird charge from a store in Toledo when I saw my grocery totals for the past 6 months laid out. Back in March I was at $680 and now I'm sitting at $510, and I have no clue when that change even happened. I think it's from me going to the store on Sundays instead of after work, since I'm not grabbing random stuff when I'm hungry and tired. Has anyone else had a number sneak up on them like that, where you weren't even trying and it just happened?
My bank app does the same thing to me and it's always a jump scare. I found out I was spending $120 a month on coffee just by scrolling through my transactions one night when I couldn't sleep. Turns out the little $4 here and $5 there adds up way faster than the big stuff you actually notice. And of course I only catch this stuff when I'm looking for something totally different, like your Toledo charge. So yeah, your Sunday shopping thing makes total sense, tired and hungry me would buy the whole snack aisle every time.
