I finally got my grocery budget under control by shopping at Aldi
Switched to Aldi three months ago and my monthly food spending dropped from $600 to $420 without changing what I actually eat. Has anyone else found a specific store or trick that saved them way more than they expected?

My Aldi trip last week came to $52 for five days of lunches and dinners, and I almost laughed out loud in the aisle. What got me was their produce section though, half the stuff lasts twice as long as what I used to buy at Publix.

The cashier at Aldi probably knows my debit card number better than my own mother at this point, @johnson.paul especially now that my produce actually lasts more than two days.

It's wild though how we're all just collectively realizing that we got played by the big grocery chains for years. Walking into Publix now feels like a scam, you're paying a premium for the same stuff that costs half as much at Aldi and lasts longer. It makes you wonder how much of the price difference is just branding and fancy lighting. The whole grocery game has shifted under our feet and nobody's talking about it enough.
