Can we talk about the cash envelope method vs. just tracking every dollar in an app?
My coworker Dana at the office in Boise swore that switching to physical envelopes for groceries and gas finally stopped her $200 a month overspend, but I track everything in a free app and think seeing the running total is way more flexible, so which one actually works better for you?
Dana's $200 a month overspend probably has less to do with envelopes and more to do with the fact that gas in Boise ain't cheap. I tried the envelope thing once and just ended up raiding my own grocery cash for tacos, so I'm team app all the way. Seeing the total go down in real time hurts way more than watching a paper envelope get thin.
