Hot take: Everyone overpacks for Europe

I just got back from two weeks in Italy and my backpack weighed 9 pounds. I saw so many people struggling with giant suitcases on cobblestone streets and paying extra fees. The trick is to pack three tops, two bottoms, and wash stuff in the sink every few nights. It saved me about 80 euros in checked bag fees on budget airlines.
