My freezer burned 8 pounds of ground beef before I figured out the vacuum sealer trick
I kept buying family packs on sale and tossing them in the freezer loose, only to find gray, sad bricks three weeks later. After 6 months and way too many wasted pounds, I finally learned to portion and seal them flat, and now a single $13 pack lasts me two full weeks of dinners. Anyone else have a fridge or freezer habit they ignored way too long?
Took me way too long to learn the same thing. Used to just stuff whole packs in there and then play roulette with whatever monster chunk defrosted weird. Now I lay them flat in bags so they stack like books. Also figured out bacon freezes way better if I roll each slice up first. Freezer is basically a whole different kitchen now that nothing is mystery meat.
