Bought the cheap version of a $40 tool, ended up paying twice

I needed a wet tile saw blade for a bathroom redo in Pittsburgh. The big box store had a $40 one and a $16 one, so I grabbed the cheap one. It smoked through the first 6 tiles then started wobbling and left chips everywhere. Ended up buying the $40 blade anyway, plus I had to redo two tiles I ruined. Has anyone else found that some tools just arent worth skimping on, or was I just unlucky with that brand?

The cheap blade tax, we've all paid it at least once. Sounds like you got a great deal on a very expensive lesson in tile cutting.
