TIL my coffee break walks got way better once I stopped checking my phone every 10 steps
I used to take my 15 minute break at the office just scrolling on my phone at my desk, and honestly I felt more tired after than before. About 4 months ago I started leaving the phone in my drawer and walking the 2 blocks to this little park near the library here in Spokane. First few days felt weird and boring, but by day 5 I noticed I was actually noticing stuff, like a guy teaching his kid to ride a bike, and the same old dude feeding pigeons every day at noon. My afternoon slump mostly went away too, which I did not expect at all. I still eat lunch at my desk, but that walk is now the one part of the workday I actually look forward to. Curious if anyone else had to basically force themselves to stop doomscrolling on breaks, or is it just me.
