The break room at my plant voted on a 10 minute rule and now half the crew is mad at the other half
So this happened at the plastics plant I work at over in Newark, been there 6 years now. Last Tuesday we had a crew meeting about break times, and the lead said we could keep the old 15 and 15 or switch to a single 30. We voted 11 to 9 for one 30 minute break, and let me tell you, the guys who wanted two breaks have not let it go. One side says a single 30 is better since you actually get to sit down and eat a full meal instead of wolfing it in 15. The other side says two 15s break up a long shift way better, and by hour 5 you are dragging with no reset. I was on the 30 side but now I am not so sure, feels like the last 3 hours of my shift are twice as long. Which setup do you have at your job, and do you think we just messed up by changing it?
