My new potting mix turned my peace lily a weird yellow color
I got a bag of that fast-draining cactus soil from the garden center last week, thinking it would help with some fungus gnats. Mixed it in with my regular stuff for a big peace lily I've had for years. Two days later, the leaves started looking pale and kind of yellow, not the deep green they usually are. I think the mix was way too harsh and pulled out all the good stuff the plant needed. Has anyone else had a plant react badly to a change in soil like that?

Actually, cactus mix is great for almost any plant.

Peace lilies are pretty tough though. That yellow color might just be shock from the repotting, not the soil itself. Give it a week with normal water and see if it bounces back before you panic.

Yeah, @jessica_robinson23 is right about giving plants time to adjust. People are so quick to fix things now, they don't let nature work. It's like expecting instant results from everything.
