Can we talk about those expensive grow light kits?
I dropped about $300 on a full spectrum LED panel for my indoor pepper plants. Set it up in the basement with a timer, thinking it would solve all my low-light problems. After two months, the plants got leggy and weak, nothing like the pictures. Turns out the light intensity was too low for fruiting plants, even at full power. Has anyone else had better luck with a specific setup for peppers indoors?

Oh man, the "300 watt panel might only pull 30 watts" thing is such a classic trap. It's like buying a monster truck that's actually powered by a lawnmower engine. You get all excited for the big results, but then your plants are just stretching out like they're begging for a sunbeam from the actual window.

Full spectrum doesn't always mean strong enough. Peppers need a ton of light, way more than leafy greens. Those panels often list wattage wrong, using the "equivalent" number. You need to check the actual power draw from the wall. A 300 watt panel might only pull 30 watts. That's your problem right there.

Hold on, I've actually had decent luck with those cheaper panels. @diana_black makes a fair point about checking the wall draw, but my jalapenos fruited under a 45-watt real draw panel. It's more about hanging it super close, like 6 inches away, and running it for 14 hours straight. You just gotta crank up the time to make up for less power.
