Am I the only one who chose a fiddle leaf fig over a monstera for a dark corner?

I picked the fig because the shop owner said it tolerates lower light better, and after 4 months it's actually pushing out a new leaf. What would you have gone with for a north-facing room in Seattle?

That's a great point about the fiddle leaf fig tolerating lower light! I went with a snake plant for my dark Seattle corner, but honestly the real game changer was putting a cheap grow light bulb in a regular lamp nearby. It's not about the plant alone, it's about giving it a little extra help. The fig is probably fine now, but a weak light source for a few hours a day would make it thrive. You get the look of a real plant without the worry of it getting leggy and sad over time.

Oh nice, a win for the fig! @the_elliot's friend's story is why I'm scared of dark corners, but sometimes you just get lucky with the right plant. Your new leaf is proof it's working.

Man, that whole "low light tolerant" label is such a trap. My friend killed two ZZ plants in a row because her place was basically a cave. She finally caved and got a fake one from Target. Looks real, zero drama. Sometimes you just have to admit defeat and get the plastic version.
