Pro tip: Don't skip the spine lining on small books

Three years ago in my home shop, I thought lining the spine on a small 3x5 inch journal was overkill and skipped it. The book fell apart after a month of my friend carrying it in her bag. Last week, I made another one the same size but used a thin muslin strip and PVA. It's still holding up perfectly, even after my kid threw it across the room. What's the thinnest material you all use for lining small projects?

Ever try using just tissue paper?

Yeah, @chen.adam, that tissue paper life is a rough road.

Totally feel that, had a journal fall apart the same way. For the small stuff now, a thin cotton voile is my go-to, way better than tissue paper like @chen.adam mentioned. It adds just enough strength without any bulk.
