Honestly, I spent $40 on a book club pick everyone raved about and hated every page
Our group chose this super long fantasy novel that was over 800 pages, and I forced myself to finish it over three weeks. Ngl, I felt like I totally wasted my money and all that time I could have spent on something good. Has your book club ever picked something that just wasn't for you?

Ever finish a book and feel like you just ran a marathon for no reason? Our club picked this literary fiction thing last year that was just misery on every page. I still get annoyed thinking about the hours I won't get back.

Ugh, I know that feeling... my old book club had a phase like that. We finally made a rule where @the_jordan gets to pick something fun after a real downer of a book. Last month we read a mystery right after some heavy drama, and it was a total reset.
