Tube rolling used to depend on a keen ear, now it's all about the gauge

Back in the day, we rolled tubes by hand and judged the fit by the sound it made. A high ring meant too tight, a dull thud was just right. These days, hydraulic rollers with pressure gauges give you exact numbers every time. It's more reliable, but I do miss training my ear for that perfect seal.

Wait, you judged it by a high ring? That's wild.

Seriously? It’s just a ring, not a life or death thing.

Trust me, gauges get it right every time. Listening for a ring was just guessing, lol.
