Warning: I played Catan for 2 years using the wrong robber rule and nobody at my Tuesday group corrected me
Found out at game night in my buddy Dale's garage off 5th Street that when a 7 gets rolled, you only steal from someone if they have more than 2 resource cards in hand. I had been robbing people blind off single cards for 12 straight games, and Dale finally asked why I always went after whoever had the least stuff. Now I'm wondering how many other house rules I've been passing off as gospel without ever cracking the rulebook myself. Has anyone else here found out mid-game that they've been teaching a rule wrong to their whole group?
