My old gaming group vs my new one - night and day difference

I used to play with a group that treated every game like a competition, even co-op stuff like Pandemic. They would quarterback every move and get grumpy if someone didn't follow their plan. Then last month I joined a new group at a local cafe, and we played Spirit Island where everyone just figured things out together. It was way more fun and actually relaxing. Has anyone else switched groups and noticed a big change in how games feel?

And honestly I think that's the thing, @garcia.tyler - we get so used to the loudest voices being the ones that sound confident, even when they're completely wrong. I used to argue for the other side too until I realized I was just repeating stuff I heard without actually checking if it held up in real life.
