PSA: My forge's air flow was a headache until I swapped the blower setup

For weeks, my fire kept choking out and I could not get a steady heat for drawing out. I finally moved the blower from the side to a straight shot under the grate, and it made all the difference. What small change fixed a big problem in your shop?

Tilted my tuyere pipe down a few degrees to stop backpressure. It was just enough angle to let the air push the ash out instead of fighting it. Now the fire sits clean and runs with less fuss.

How many tries did it take to find that sweet spot, @brooke_miller? That clean fire sounds totally worth the fiddling.

Smart tweak, @brooke_miller. Back in my dad's garage, we had a forge with a stubborn tuyere. I remember tilting it about 4 degrees after reading an old forum post. The difference was night and day, no more ash buildup. It's one of those things you don't think about until it clicks. Now I always check the angle first when the fire acts up.
