An old smith in Ohio told me to stop quenching 5160 in water, and I finally tried it
Switched to warm canola oil at 130F and got zero cracks on my last 6 knives instead of 2 out of 6. What oil temps are you all running for 5160?

I saw a knifemaker on YouTube say he runs his 5160 at 125F to 135F and swears by it. Sounds like you landed right in that range. The old smith knew what he was talking about.
