Spent $12 on pickle juice powder for my popcorn and honestly it is better than the real vinegar drizzle
Everyone in this group keeps hyping pickle juice in soda but the powder tossed straight on buttered popcorn at my desk in Akron last Friday gave me that same sour punch without turning the kernels into wet mush, so what else am I sleeping on that skips the liquid?
Grabbed a shaker of powdered vinegar at a state fair two summers back and never went back to the liquid stuff for fries. My whole thing is that liquid soaks in and makes everything soggy, but powder sits on top and hits you right when you bite down. I do the same trick with lemon powder on steamed broccoli when I want that sour kick without a puddle at the bottom of the bowl. Also tried tomato powder on plain chips once and it was weirdly good, like a ketchup chip but less fake tasting. Dill powder on buttered popcorn sounds like the next thing I need to try since pickle is basically dill plus vinegar anyway. The only warning I have is powder clumps if your popcorn is still steamy, so give it a minute to cool first.
