Sardines and grape jelly on saltines, an experiment gone sideways
I saw this on a midnight snack forum and figured why not. Cracked open a tin of sardines in oil, slapped on some cheap grape jelly from the gas station, then topped with a saltine like a weird little cracker sandwich. First bite was fishy sweet and I almost spit it out, but by the third one I was scooping more jelly straight from the jar onto the fish. My roommate walked in and just said 'are you okay' while I was hunched over the kitchen counter at 1 AM. Has anyone else had a combo that tasted awful at first but somehow got addictive after a few tries? I still have half a tin left and I'm torn between finishing it or throwing it out.

Yikes, but whats the jelly to fish ratio you landed on?

Went with about 1 part jelly to 3 parts fish and it was still way too sweet for me. Sorry you had to deal with that mess though.
