Spent last Saturday marathoning a show from 2003 and forgot how slow TV used to be without skipping intros.
I watched 8 episodes of The Wire in one go and missed half of what happened because I kept reaching for my phone during the long pauses between scenes.

You remember how every scene in The Sopranos would just hold on a shot of a tree or a parking lot for like 15 seconds before anyone spoke? I tried watching the first season recently and kept thinking my laptop froze. Got through three episodes and gave up because I kept spacing out during the silent parts. Feels like modern shows are afraid of letting you breathe for a second.
