Yeah but "better than dirty oil" is a pretty low bar! I've seen some really messy wax jobs that picked up way more grit than a clean chain with fresh lube. @the_linda, I just don't buy it.

Wait, have you seen the actual test data? The grit pickup thing is a myth based on how wax looks, not how it works. A sealed wax layer doesn't hold dirt like sticky oil does.
