TIL my local post office has a secret backroom that looks like a hoarder's paradise from 1998
Went to drop off a package yesterday and the clerk accidentally left the back door open - saw stacks of undelivered catalogs and rubber bands everywhere, like someone's grandma's junk drawer exploded. Has anyone else stumbled into something weird behind the counter at their post office?

That backroom is probably the most efficient part of the whole operation! They're clearly saving all those catalogs for a massive recycling day that'll save the planet.

You're giving them way too much credit. That backroom is a disaster waiting to happen. All those catalogs stacked up are a fire hazard and a tripping hazard for employees. They're not saving them for anything, they're just too disorganized to deal with them. And if they ever did try to recycle them, they'd need a whole separate truck just for that mess, which kind of defeats the whole eco-friendly angle.
