Swapped my morning run for a 15 min stretching routine 2 months ago and now I'm less tired all day

I used to pound out 3 miles every morning before work like clockwork. Felt like I was nailing it til I realized I was dragging by 2 PM and crashing by 8. My buddy who's a PT told me to try a 15 min dynamic stretching routine instead, focusing on hips and back. After about 3 weeks my energy levels evened out way more than when I was running. I still run on weekends but the daily grind feels easier now somehow. Does anyone else find that high intensity morning stuff backfires for a standard 9-5?

Oh yeah totally. I tried doing HIIT before work for a month and was absolutely wrecked by lunchtime, switching to lighter movement in the mornings was a game changer for my energy too.

I was totally in the "no pain no gain" camp for years (which, looking back, was so dumb). But after a friend convinced me to try gentle yoga first thing, I realized I wasn't getting better, I was just getting more burnt out. Now I do some stretching or a walk before work and save the hard stuff for after when I actually have fuel in the tank. It's wild how much your body tells you if you actually listen to it.
