A trick for getting the last bit of peanut butter from the jar

I got tired of wasting a big spoonful of peanut butter stuck to the bottom of the jar. Last month, I started adding about a quarter cup of hot coffee to the empty jar, putting the lid back on, and shaking it hard. It makes a thin, sweet peanut butter coffee that's actually pretty good. Now I get every bit and my jar is clean for recycling. Anyone else have a good use for the last bit of a sticky food container?

That coffee trick is GENIUS. I do something similar with my morning oatmeal. When the peanut butter jar is almost empty, I scoop in a half cup of rolled oats and a splash of milk, screw the lid back on, and shake it like crazy. After it sits for a minute, I eat it right out of the jar. It gets EVERY last bit and it's a whole breakfast. You could probably do the same thing with yogurt.

A splash of milk with peanut butter sounds like a weird science experiment.

My old roommate used to do the yogurt version. The key is using a thick Greek yogurt, otherwise it just turns into a sad, runny mess. You have to shake it for a full minute, no cheating, to really scrape the sides clean. It works way better with a plastic jar than a glass one, in my experience.
