Warning: Got stuck in a bathroom in Boise for 25 minutes on my lunch break and it turned my whole week around | Bathroom Rant Sessions - Chatter Central
Used to roll my eyes at stuff like this but honestly being stuck somewhere with zero escape really does hit different. Kinda makes you appreciate just sitting there with nothing to do for a bit.
I used to be the guy who'd get annoyed when my phone died or the wifi went out somewhere. Would pace around like a caged animal looking for something to do. Then last summer I got stuck on a delayed train for four hours with no signal and nothing to read. After the first hour of being mad about it, something kinda clicked. I just sat there watching people and looking out the window and it was weirdly calming. Now I actually look for those little pockets of forced nothing, even if it's just leaving my phone in the car when I run into a store. Your mileage may vary but that shift surprised me.
