Used to camp out at estate sales at 5am, now I just roll up at noon and do better
I used to set an alarm for 4:30am every Saturday to be first in line at estate sales around Columbus, thinking the early birds got all the good stuff. After about 2 years of that I noticed the real gems, like the $15 brass lamp I flipped for $180, were still sitting there at 11am because most people grab the obvious junk first. Now I show up around noon when the sellers are tired and way more willing to haggle, and I've done better in 3 months than I did all last year. Has anyone else noticed the late crowd gets better prices, or is it just the sales I hit?
