That $3 yard sale level I skipped for ages, now it's my go-to
I always walked right past combination squares at garage sales, figured my old tape measure was fine. Last week I picked one up for $3 at a sale in Albany, and it took me 10 minutes to see how much easier it is to mark true 90s for my workbench builds. Anyone else have a tool they ignored forever that turned out to be a game changer?

...wait, three dollars? For a combination square? That's criminal, I paid like forty bucks for mine at the hardware store and honestly I still don't use it half as much as I should... but yeah, once you get that thing locked in and you're scribing a perfect line, you never go back to guessing with a tape measure. The first time I used mine to check if my shelf brackets were actually square, I nearly threw the level across the garage because it had been lying to me for years. Now I'm the weirdo who brings it to flea markets just to test people's furniture... it's honestly saved me more than a few headaches on my own builds too.
