Paid $90 for a vintage kitchen scale, now I'm split on whether it was smart
Found a 1950s Toledo scale at an estate sale in Portland. It works perfect, weighs to the gram, looks amazing on my counter. But I could've bought a digital one for $20 that does the same thing plus tare. Is the look worth the extra $70, or did I just buy a decoration with extra steps? Anyone else have a pricey vintage piece they regret or defend?

My buddy Tom bought an old brass cash register from a flea market for $150. He hauled it home, set it up in his kitchen, and it sat there looking pretty for about a month. Then the drawer mechanism jammed, and he spent two weekends taking the whole thing apart just to fix a spring that cost him $4 online. He still loves it, but he told me he could've bought a used one that actually works for half the price if he'd been patient. Every time I see it, he points out that it's the most expensive paperweight he owns.
