Found a $3 lamp at a garage sale in Mesa with a price tag still on it from 1987, and the before/after on the shade was wild
Same lamp, same shade, but between the dusty yellowed one I bought Saturday and the clean cream one after 20 minutes with a magic eraser, I honestly thought someone swapped it on me, so does anyone else feel weirdly guilty cleaning the years off stuff like this?

The guilt is real but I keep doing it anyway. Twenty minutes of scrubbing turns a $3 yard sale find into something that looks brand new, and part of me misses the grime that told its story. That yellow shade had forty years baked into it, and a magic eraser wiped all that history out in one afternoon.
