Can we talk about how everyone treats speed limits like suggestions on residential streets?

After watching a guy blow past my building doing 45 in a 25 zone almost hit a kid on a bike, I finally get why my neighbor keeps putting up those handwritten slow down signs.

Man that's rough, really sorry you had to see that. I live on a street where people treat it like a drag strip, seen someone almost clip a mailman last week going 50 in a 30. Its insane how nobody seems to care until something bad happens. Those handwritten signs probably wont stop anyone but at least your neighbor is trying. Hope that kid was okay and didn't get too scared.
