My neighbor's 'just water them more' advice killed my tomato plants
Last June I asked my neighbor Bob about why my Roma tomatoes looked sad and he told me to soak them every single morning without fail. I followed his advice for two weeks and they all got root rot and died. Has anyone else had a neighbor give terrible plant advice that you actually listened to?

Man, that Bob sounds like a real piece of work. I had a buddy once tell me to water my lawn every day during a heatwave, and I ended up with a swampy mess full of mushrooms instead of grass. Some folks just love giving advice without actually knowing what they're talking about, am I right?

...and here I was thinking Bob was just trying to get me to buy his old soaker hose. My neighbor once told me to put coffee grounds around my roses to make them bloom bigger, turns out he was just trying to get rid of his morning mess.
