My compost pile went cold in the middle of winter

I was turning my compost bin last week here in Madison, and the middle felt like a frozen brick, not warm at all. I added a bunch of old coffee grounds from my kitchen and covered it with a tarp to try and get it cooking again. Has anyone else had their compost just stop like that when it gets really cold?

Mine did the same thing last month. The tarp should help, it just needs to get through this cold snap.

Honestly, I used a space heater on low under mine for a couple nights when it got really bad. Just keep an eye on it.
