My hiking pole snapped on the Black Mountain trail near Asheville last Saturday
I was about 3 miles into a 12 mile loop when the lower section of my old Leki pole just gave out going downhill, and I had to finish the whole hike limping along with a single pole and a stick I found on the ground has anyone else had a major piece of gear fail mid-route?

Did you try contacting Leki about it? I had a tent pole snap on me once in the Smokies and the company actually sent me a free replacement after I emailed them a photo.

Wait, @johnson.paul, did your Leki pole fail on the same type of rocky downhill, or was it a different trail problem?
