I finally noticed how much faster the PCT gets after Muir Trail Ranch

The first 700 miles had me doing 15-mile days max, but after that ranch I was suddenly pushing 25-mile days without feeling wrecked. Was it the trail terrain changing or just my legs finally adapting after 6 weeks? Curious if anyone else hit that same shift.

Oh man, I mean it's probably a mix of both but also worth noting that the trail actually gets way flatter and more maintained after MTR, not just your legs. So that's a big part of it even if it feels like a mental breakthrough.

So basically, the trail does all the hard work and we take the credit?
