My shelf hanging mishap with a watery surprise

I was trying to mount a shelf in my kitchen and picked a spot without checking. The drill went right into a water pipe behind the wall. Water shot out and soaked me and the floor before I could react. My downstairs neighbor came up because it started dripping through their light fixture.

My uncle's plumbing bill from that mistake was over a thousand dollars.
