Rant: My old shop's trick for stubborn LRU connectors actually worked

We had a Garmin G1000 nav display that wouldn't seat right, and the lead tech told me to warm the connector shell with a heat gun on low for 30 seconds. It slid in smooth after three tries of fighting it cold. Anyone have a different method for those tight airframe-side pins?

Tiny drop of contact cleaner" is the real trick, isn't it? I had the same thing with a cannon plug on a King Air, just a little bit of that cleaner on the shell and it went right in. Felt like magic after I'd been wrestling with it for ten minutes.

Oh man, a tiny drop of contact cleaner did it for me.
