Saw a 1968 Chevy pickup at the county fair with a carburetor so clean you could eat off it

I was at the fair in Lancaster last weekend. This old truck was on display, engine bay open. The guy had the original Rochester carb rebuilt and polished. It looked brand new. Made me think how few people even know what a carb is now. Anyone else miss working on stuff that simple?

Tried @mila_harris's toothbrush trick once, but I mean, nothing beats that showroom shine.

Grab a brass brush for the really tough spots first, then follow up with the toothbrush for the fine details. The trick is using a solvent that cuts the grime but doesn't leave a film. I keep a small parts tray of mineral spirits for the initial soak.

Ever tried polishing a carb with just a toothbrush and solvent?
