Question about that patio place off Moreland Ave

I finally stopped by the little nursery on Moreland last Saturday after driving past it for like two years... they had this old timer showing me how to trim back my overgrown boxwoods that I've been messing up for seasons. Has anyone else gotten good tips from the staff there or was it just a lucky day?

@the_simon yeah that guy's been there forever, pretty sure he's the one who helped my neighbor with her azaleas a few years back. Just a heads up though, boxwoods actually do better with a light hand in early spring rather than a big trim later in the season, so take his advice with a grain of salt depending on when you're cutting.

Bet that old timer's been fixing people's boxwoods since before boxwoods were cool.

Oh come on now, you can't knock a guy for sticking with what he knows. Boxwoods have been a staple in American gardens for decades, way before they became the trendy thing for modern landscaping. That old timer probably learned from his own father or an old master gardener back when people actually took the time to learn proper pruning techniques. I've seen too many folks butcher their shrubs with hedge trimmers trying to copy what they see on Pinterest. If he's been at it that long, he understands the rhythm of the plant better than most.
