Warning: reading that the average person checks their phone 96 times a day actually made me put mine in a drawer
I saw that stat in a screen time report from a tech review site last week and now I'm genuinely wondering if you all think that number is real or just pulled out of thin air.
96 times a day works out to checking your phone every 10 minutes if you're awake for 16 hours. That math alone makes me question the whole thing. I have a hard time believing most people I know are picking up their phone that often, and the people who did the study probably had a weird sample group like college kids or tech workers. Phone-in-drawer guy might be overreacting to a made up number.
Totally with you on this one. Every single person I know who got hit with that "96 times" stat said the same thing, who are these people? Sounds like they just watched a bunch of teenagers at a mall food court for a week.
