Found a cheap fix for squeaky floorboards in my 1920s house
I spent like 3 months dealing with this one spot in my hallway that would squeak every time you stepped on it. Got tired of it and grabbed a $5 box of baby powder from Target, just dumped a bunch into the gaps and worked it in with a brush. Been 2 weeks and totally silent now, no more noise at all. Has anyone else tried this or got a better method for old hardwood?

Honestly, baby powder is a classic. Works better than half the expensive stuff they sell for this.

Wait, baby powder fixes squeaky floors? No way, that actually works?

Baby powder fixing squeaky floors is just another example of how old school solutions often beat the fancy stuff they try to sell you. Makes you wonder how many products we buy are just solving problems that already had simple answers.
